Peedie Pals Orkney Nature Festival Children’s Competition 2024

This year’s competition is to create an artwork of nature, birds, animals or insects found in Orkney. Your artwork can be a junk model, drawing, collage, diorama, lego model or even a picture drawn in the sand, it’s entirely up to you!

Age groups are – 7 and under, 8 – 12 years and 13 – 16 years.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all categories, a grand prize for overall winner and a certificate for everyone who takes part.

Entries open on the 30th March and can be submitted via the Peedie Pals Facebook page or by email at [email protected]. Entries close on the 19th May.

The Nature Library is a library and reading space bringing stories of land, sky and sea to public spaces across Scotland. With stories of conservation and climate justice, memoir and essays, fiction and field guides, poetry and many things in between, each book offers new routes of knowing, experiencing and caring for the natural world at a time when it needs our attention the most. The Nature Library is a reference library. We welcome you to browse and read in the space provided at St Magnus Cathedral, and kindly ask you not to take the books home with you! Thank you.
