STUDENT BUILDS YOLE

A new Orkney Yole is currently being built by a student boat builder at the Boat Academy in Lyme Regis.

Rod Anderson Boyle has been building his 18 foot yole from the plans of the Orkney Yole "Emma".

Stepping away from tradition he has built the yole using plywood and has glued the planks instead of "clinking".

As can be seen from the photos below he has been making an excellent job. We look forward to seeing more photos as it progresses.
