Club Information
The Orkney Club currently has a membership of around 250 men and women. We are a varied bunch - caterers to councillors, airline pilots to marine pilots, busmen to businessmen, lawyers to lorry drivers, archivists to able bodied seamen. You name it, one of our members probably does it! We do have one thing in common, however - our club; a venue where we can all relax, enjoy the facilities and take pleasure in each others' company.

Membership is obtained through the recommendation of an existing member or members. The club encourages its members to introduce their friends, partners and associates to the club, perhaps with a view to joining, but also just to enjoy the club and what it has to offer.
For 2024 Membership fees are
Full £65
Senior/Ex-pat £45
Rates reviewed at AGM each December
Snooker is a popular activity at the club
Committee Meetings - the club management committee is obliged to meet at least every three months although in practice we usually meet on a 4 - 6 week basis. Members wishing to read over the deliberations of the committee will find a copy of the minutes from recent meetings posted in the bar lounge.
Club Facilities
The Snooker Room - There are two full size snooker tables upstairs. These traditional tables, dating from the 1890s, are regularly re-covered and are maintained to a high standard by enthusiastic club members.
The Games Room - This room, to the rear of the building, accommodates the club pool table and dart boards. It doubles as the club's function room.
The Daniell Room - Frequently used for club meetings, the Daniell Room also hosts regular coffee mornings. It has direct access to the bar and is therefore useful should there be an "overspill" from the lounge.
The Lounge Bar - Our well stocked bar, boasting some interesting malt whiskies, is the club's focal point. Many of the world's problems are solved here.
