Amblers' Group
12 March 2014
Starts: 10:40

Hello Everyone.
You may have noticed that spring has sprung in the gardens, mine anyway, so our next amble to Rousay should be a pleasure, weather willing.  I am proposing to meet at Tingwall (lifts available if you let me know) on Wednesday 12th March ready for the boat sailing at 10.40 am.  Then, as the headland wasn't suitable, I suggest we perambulate Trumland House garden where the current owners have done wonders in the walled garden and also along the burn so that's well worth a look or two.

Then you have a choice - I would quite like to amble along the road to Taversoe, lunch there and amble back for either the 1635 boat or 1730 but, if no-one fancies that, we can either eat/drink at The Pier Cafe and have a look at The Hub, a newly opened craft shop just up from The Pier and catch the boat from there.  Or of course, if you prefer, bring a picnic lunch.  Costs should be £5.25 return fare for we oldies on the boat plus a donation asked for at Trumland, plus Taversoe lunch if that is on.

As usual it will be helpful to let me know if you are coming, tel. 875562.

PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP 1
12 March 2014
Starts: 14:00

The next meeting is at the Barony Mill at 2pm on Wednesday 12th March at 2 pm .The mill is in full working mode so bring a tripod to catch the essence of whirring machinery and flour covered millers. Tea will probably be at the Merkister at 3.30 or thereabouts. The project this month is "What or Where is this". It should be unusual photos of familiar objects or places .The usual 5 max photos .
While at the Merkister yesterday, Mr Munson told me that otters are to be seen at the end of the small branch of his pier on Loch Harry .They are with cubs and active up till 11 am and after 5pm.So if we are not in too much of a rush and the wind is in the right direction we may see them .
