u3a Walking Group One - 29 August, 2024 - Keelylang

by Tim Wright - 16:52 on 29 August 2024

Six hardy souls arrived at the Community Centre in Finstown on a dry morning with enough wind to keep the midges off. We set off promptly as rain was forecast for later in the morning. The path was wetter than on the recce but we all made it up the hill and over the moorland to the gravel path. The rain threatened but didn't come to anything until we reached the masts at the top of the hill. We sheltered in the lee of the buildings and had our refreshments. Unfortunately the view was rather obscured which was a pity .When the rain became drizzle we set off back down the hill. It was dry again within ten minutes and stayed the way all the way to Simon's house down past Cruan farm. He then kindly took us all back to the Community Centre  to save us walking on the main road. An energetic walk of 5 miles with good views at times.

The next walk will be on Friday 27th September. The time and place will be communicated nearer the time depending on the forecast.

Keep moving ,

Tim
