U3A Walking Group - August 2019

At the fourth time of planning 11 hardy souls walked Wideford Hill. We took cars to the top and walked down the path to the Cairn. Some took opportunity to go inside the Cairn while others enjoyed the sunshine above ground. We then circled around a different and slightly muddy path back to the top and a rest at the View Point. Then it was down hill all the way along the tractor path to the Muddisdale track.
We saw lots of Painted Ladies Butterflies and one lovely Blue too. How the trees and shrubs are thriving below the Golf Course there with such an excellent growing season. Then, for some it was back home while others took advantage of the Picky Centre and had soup and very nice sandwiches. A great walk in ideal conditions for a change.
The next meeting will be on Thursday 12th September. Sorry it is rather later than usual but I am away the week before. Details as usual nearer the time and will be weather dependent as to where we go.
