The Orkney U3A Committee met today at Wesbank,St Ola .Seven people were present .The main items of interest discussed were ,

1   Speakers for the General Meetings .

    The speakers for the next few meetings will be ,

Thursday 21st Jan     Athole Thompson and Marlene Mainland on St Nicholas Church in Holm

Tuesday 16th Feb (Note this is a Tuesday Meeting)    Tom Muir on Orkney Customs at Birth ,Marriage and Death 

Thursday 17th March    AGM followed by an Orkney Photographic Quiz Tim Wright (incredible prizes to be won ! )

Thursday 21st April      Harvey Johnstone on the Orkney Language 

The rest of the year's programme is almost finalized and will be available at the AGM on payment of the Subscription.

2  Currently we have 96 Members and the finances are Healthy 

3   The Christmas dinner was discussed and the method of Payment and the food selection process was to be reviewed and made simpler .Trevor and Fiona undertook to liaise with the Kirkwall Hotel as to how this can best be done .

4   The Tea rota for the General Meetings was reviewed and Group Leaders are asked to make sure that they are aware when their Group has to take onerous task on and alert people accordingly.

The next Committee Meeting will be on 12th April at 2 pm at Westbank ,St Ola .
