Music Appreciation Group

Met on 7th december at the Lea"s residence-when our theme was "Italy"-
Among the selection were the following choices-
One of our members is partial to Alfie Boe-so we had a few items featuring him singing in Italian or about Italy-
including "Grenada " but sung in Italian.
We also listened to Scarlatti,Respighi,Verdi, Pergolesi,Puccini, Vivaldi,Tosti,and we had Italian soloists and conductors.
So-it was not all opera!
As usual-we learnt some facts and had some laughs,
Finishing at Midday,we then enjoyed our Christmas lunch at the Kirkwall hotel.
Our next meeting will be on Mon 4th January at 10 a.m.( we always meet on the first monday of the month)
At the O"Shea"s in Stromness-and all are welcome.
