BIRD WATCHING JUNE

by Ken O'Connor - 08:12 on 27 June 2013

Birdie Report 26th June

Ten of our group had a really nice walk from Swannay Farm  to Brough of Birsay along the cliff tops  to see all the bird life on the face of the cliffs.  Weather was kind to us just a light NW'ly to keep us cool.

We were not disappointed as we managed to see nearly all the usual birds for the time of year which included Puffins,  Kittiwakes,  Fulmars,  Arctic Skua ,(Skootie Alan) and  Arctic Terns on the stacks at Skipi Geo.

All ending up with a cup of soup from the food van at the Brough at 1.30pm so not a bad mornings activity.

Next meet will be July 24th . Venue to still decided but most lightly will be in the south parish. Details later.

Ken
