OZ Business Recycling Collection
The Waste (Scotland) Regulations require all businesses operating in Scotland to present key recyclables, specifically paper and card, glass, metals, and plastics for recycling. Orkney Zerowaste (OZ) offer a quick and reliable solution to these new requirements.
"The OZ Business Recycling Collection" operates a weekly, fortnightly or monthly service to your business, collecting bagged paper (shredded or whole), flattened cardboard, plastic bottles (no lids), glass bottles and cans direct from participating premises.
- Regular and reliable collections
- No hassle for your business, no time requirement for your staff
- Collection frequency to suit your business
- Competitive charges compared to Council gate fees
- Duty of Care waste transfer notes provided
OZ is a local Orkney recycling charity which has a suitable vehicle and the required professional "waste transfer licence" to up-lift waste materials. Collected paper and card, bottles and cans are sent through an existing Orkney Islands Council system to a recycling plant South. Glass is reprocessed in Orkney as an aggregate.
Orkney Zerowaste is a not-for-profit social enterprise, using the income generated from the recycling collection service to fund its Yard and Grant Scheme, which supports projects associated with waste recycling, reuse, repurposing and reduction across Orkney.
Any business in Stromness, Kirkwall or elsewhere in Orkney, wanting their business recycling collected, should contact Administrator Nicky Getgood by email on [email protected]. You can also view flyers detailing:
