Legion increase lead

The Legion have increased their lead at the top of the Williamsons 'A' League to nine points, with an 11-1 over Quoyburray 'B'.
The reason it increased is because Sanday beat the Commodores 7-5, which also allowed the Golf Club to move back up into second spot on games difference, following 9-3 defeat of Quoyburray.
There was a very good point secured by RBLM, as they held the strong Untouchables team to a six-all draw, and moving up alongside the Untouchables in fourth place are the Wanderers.
The ‘for’ and ‘against’ statistics are the same for the two sides, after Wanderers’ 7-5 victory over the Untouchables 'A'.
There are still no points for Shapinsay, who went down to the Murray Arms 10-2.

In the Williamsons 'B' League, it's very close at the top, as both contenders chalked up big wins.
Leading the way were the Nomads, with a 10-2 defest of the Likely Lads, as they went down 9-3 to the other contender the Sands '2'.
So, there's one point in it, and the Sands '2' have a game in hand, as there's no score in from their game against the Sands.
Good wins also for Meadowbank, 7-5 over Tankerness; and a 10-2 win for the Legion Arrows against the Motorhoose.
St Ola are losing touch with the top teams, after only drawing 6-6 with Deerness; but still going strong are the Shore boys, who were 9-3 winners over the Bilco boys.

Once again, plenty of 180s, from Michael Bain, Neil Drever, Keith Brumpton, Ross Donaldson, Davy Henderson, Brian Moar, Martin Peace, Ian Findlay, Roy Foubister, Keith Bain, Ivan Leslie, Colin Findlay, Craig Moar, Craig Taylor, Erlend Lennie, Archie Yule, Scott Walls and Derek Manson, with two from Ian Wilkie, Kenny Gillespie, Robbie Stanger, Alan Gray in a 13-dart leg, Leigh Shearer and Kevin Gray.

Hich checkouts: 100 from Ian Findlay and Brian Moar; 105 and 114 D. Berston; 110 Ian Campbell; 106 Gordon Rendall; 112 Ivan Leslie; 114 Colin Leslie; 115 Malcolm Coghill; 119 Robbie Stanger; 120 Kevin Gray; 121 Stevie Linklater; 140 and 152 Martin Peace.
That takes the high checkouts to 223. Kevin Gray has 15 in the 'A' League, and Raymie Rendall has six in the 'B' League.
The 180s total is 413, and Kevin Gray has 42.
Friday night, it's the big night, with the last chance to collect ranking points via the League Singles, which is in the Masonic Club. Names by 7.30pm.
Lots of players are still in with a chance and, with the right results, a couple of 'B' players could still make it.
But, you must enter, and the more 'B' players who enter, the greater the chance, as they could all be in the same section of the draw.
Everything then leads to the Tennent’s Kirkwall Open next Saturday.
The trophy has never left Orkney, so let's keep it that way.
Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 5, in the Masonic at 8pm.
