Investment Programme 10

Youth Music Initiative

Informal Sector Small and Large Investments

Purpose

To support organisations working within the Informal Sector* who wish to programme music making activities for young people (0-25 years) outwith mainstream education settings or for children under 5 either in or out of nursery settings.

*  Informal sector: a term used to describe supervised music-making activities that happen outside mainstream education times and settings.

In exceptional circumstances we can support music making activity in school times and settings, please see the fund criteria below for further details.

Through this investment route there are two levels of funding to apply for.

  • Small investments
  • Large investments

Funds available

This year there is £700,000 available in the budget.

Small investments will be made between £1,000 and £5,000.

Large investments will be made between £5,001 and £30,000.

In any application for support we expect at least 10% cash partnership funding.

Please note partnership funding cannot come from Local Authorities’ Youth Music Initiative formula funding budget as this is considered double funding.

Deadlines

Small Investments

If you wish to apply for between £1,000 and £5,000 you can submit your application at any time during the year until the fund closes on 13th February 2012.

Please note however the fund may be fully expended earlier than this date and therefore early submission of applications is recommended.

Large Investments

If you wish to apply for between £5,001 and £30,000 you must submit your application before the deadline listed on Creative Scotland website.
