U3A Photo Group One - 20 April 2022

Nine of us met today at Rod's house on a perfect Spring morning for photography. The sky was blue with barely a cloud and the wind was reasonable. Rod drove us down to the shore and walked us past the old Seaplane base by the beach with all the old submarine netting to the pier. Oystercatchers, Shellduck, Lapwings and Larks were all calling and displaying as we wandered along past the old Guard House to the de-gaussing station.
The pier had great stonework as well as an interesting crane at the end from the first world war. A colourful boat at the inlet lent itself to taking photos. Then it was back the way we came to Rod's house with a stop at the waterfall for more pictures. Rod and Kate then provided an excellent soup and cake lunch along with coffees too. A very big Thank You to them for their excellent hospitality.
While at Rod's we sat in his garden and looked at the photos from the Green Project and the trip to Olaf's Wood. Discussion on the next Project led to "Windows and/or Doors" being the subject. The plan is to go out to Stronsay for our next trip on Wednesday 18th May taking cars on the ferry. Times and plans will follow.
