30 August 2025Wizard of Oz - Info session and Casting call - Sun 31 August
It's tomorrow!

Don't miss out on a fun afternoon on Sunday 31 August at the former Herring Factory with the Wizard of Oz production team - we'll take you on a wander down that yellow brick road with some group singing, read some lines and you'll find out more about the roles available (on and off-stage) and be able to sign up to take part.
There's a variety of stage roles available (including of course the well know and loved main characters!) and at this session we're looking for adults and young people aged 10 and upwards; younger children will be invited to a seperate event at a later date.
Anyone interested in assisting with roles such as set painting, props, costuming, make-up, and other backstage roles on the performance nights are warmly invited to come along too, and let us know.
Previous SDC participants and new faces very welcome - and you don't need to live in Stromness to be part of our friendly group.

Opportunities for younger children will come at a later date so our keen little ones won't miss out.
We will be posting little snippets of more information in the run up to the 31st to encourage lots of you to attend - onstage and offstage opportunities available so if you'd rather help backstage do come and speak to us.
If you won't be able to attend on the 31st you can let us know via [email protected] and we'll keep you in the loop.

16 July 2025Shopping Week Comedy Revue - Tues 22 July
It's that time again - after the hectic fun of the Island Games, Stromness Shopping Week is upon us!
Our annual Comedy Revue starts at 8.30pm with doors opening around 8pm, which leaves you plenty of time for dinner and a wander before you nip in to the Town Hall and have a good laugh at the topical sketches and songs our talented members and friends have been working on.
Entry is £5 at the door and we'll have a raffle too.
The show will last about an hour, give or take.
