Winner of 2014 Orkney District One Act Play Festival

We are delighted to announce that Stromness Drama Club's Hamnavoe team were announced as the winners of this year's Orkney District One Act Play Festival on Friday night.

Found by John Godber was directed by Graham Garson and starred Lorraine Giles and Pete Tipler, and you have another chance to see it performed on Saturday 8 March in Stromness Town Hall.  The show starts at 7.30pm and entry is £5 - don't forget some extra pennies for raffle tickets too!

First up on Saturday night will be our Youth Team performing the excellent Betrayal by Bob Tucker, directed by Kathy Hunter and Ingrid Kerr; next will be a musical interlude from Ellen and James Grieve and then Found will be performed to round off the evening.

Come and join us for another entertaining evening from our local talent!

Betrayal
Leonard is depressed by the arrival of Spring. Margaret says he's a boring bank manager, but by the end of the day he's planning to run away with the money from the vault and the woman next door. Trouble is, he's not the only one with his eye on the money and a fast getaway.

Found
It's the last night of the summer season; Tom and Chelsea's holiday job is now a distant memory. There'll be no more nights on the town, beer at the beach huts and surfing on the sea, as he goes back to university and she's found on the dole; the Court Hotel brought them together; but ambition will pull them apart. A funny, sharp and biting modern comedy about the haves and chav nots!
