24 July 2024Tesco Stronger Starts (in-store token voting) for SOCS project
Stenness Community Association SCIO is bidding for a cash boost from the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme and you can vote instore now until 30 September!
Stronger Starts provides grant awards of up to £1,500 to local community projects, with a particular focus on children and young people.
Three groups in every community have been shortlisted to receive grant awards and Tesco customers can vote for the group they think should take away the top award in their local Tesco store.
The Stenness Outdoor Community Space project aims to develop a community space where people of all ages and at all stages of life can come to play, learn, socialise and participate in the outdoor environment.
So, if you're shopping in Tesco's we'd be delighted if you could pop in a token to support us!
08 July 2024Ness of Brodgar Open Day and Cafe at Stenness Hall
Head along to the Stenness Hall this Sunday, 14 July, for lunch or tea and a homebake - Stenness Community Association are running the cafe and funds raised are being split between SCA and the Stenness Outdoor Community Space project.
Sandwiches, homemade soup, hot dogs, mince rolls, home bakes, tea, coffee and juice available from 11am until 4pm.

Come out and support the Pride in Orkney Fun Day at the hall this Sunday between 11am and 4pm - lots of games, workshops, a cafe with hot and cold food and drinks, face painting, glitter tattoos, plant sale and more!
10 June 2024Stenness Over 60's Meal and Music - bookings by 12 June!
Do you live in Stenness and are aged 60 or over? Do you know someone who is?
Stenness Community Association are putting on their second annual meal and music night to celebrate the older members of the community and serve them a nice meal, provide good music and the chance to catch up with folk they might not have seen in a while - and meet some folk they might not already know.
Whether you've stayed in Stenness for 40 years or 4 months, if you're over 60 then we'd be delighted to have you join us on Thursday 20 June!
Did we mention that its free?! Free meal and soft drink, free entertainment...the only thing you pay for is alcohol/additional drinks from the bar if you want them.
No need to dress up, but if you want to, go for it.
Two-course meal featuring delicious Flett's roast beef plus a vegetarian/vegan option for the main course, and then entertainment by the Kirkjuvagr Ceilidh Band.
