A prayer:

Life-giver,

Where I am,

You are.

What I feel,

You feel.

What I think,

You think.

So transparent is my unity with you

That my eye and your eye

Are one eye and one seeing

And one knowing and one loving.

In awe I confess:

That what I do,

You do.

Assist me this day to be worthy

Of you.

Amen.

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.  Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

Prayer for those who feel pulled in too many directions:  May you stop and breathe, simply and steadily, trusting that the world’s spinning does not rely on you spinning, that there is a difference between what you feel must get done and what actually must get done, that there is a distinction between necessity and noise, may you

The eternal life I seek is not some after-time, some other place, but an awareness of eternity in this moment and this place.

The Parable of the Growing Seed

Jesus also said, “The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how. The earth produces of itself, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head. But when the grain is ripe, at once he goes in with his sickle, because the harvest has come.

Mark 4: 26 NRSV

Charity does not require of us that we should not see the faults of others, but that we should avoid all needless and voluntary observance of them, and that we should not be blind to their good qualities when we are so sharp-sighted to their bad ones.

One knows God, not so much through reason, nor even through the heart, but through one’s feeling of complete dependence on Him, akin to the feeling experienced by an unweaned child in the arms of its mother.  It does not know who holds it, warms it, feeds it; but it knows that there is this someone; and more than merely knows, — it loves that being.
