New season cup games about to begin

The 51st season of the KDDL is about to get underway when two cup games are set to be played.
On Monday night, September 4, the Allied Hotels Cup takes place in the Legion which is open to teams of three players.
The format is best of three legs 501, three singles and a team game. Nominated singles if a decider is required.
On Tuesday night, September 5,  it is the turn of the B league to get underway when the St Ola Cup is held in the Masonic for teams of four.
The format is best of three, 501, Nominated singles if a decider is required.
As with all cup games, team names have to be in by 7.30pm. No late entries accepted.
Although not a KDDL competition, we are happy to mention the Shapinsay Open which takes place on Saturday, September 9th.
Names have to be in by 12.15pm with £5 entry fee. The ferry departs Kirkwall at 11.30am, returning from Shapinsay at 8pm, as well as ferries running throughout the day.
There are £100 top men's and ladies cash prizes up for grabs as well as runners-up prizes of £50, as well as the usual other prizes, fun boards etc.
There is also a BBQ in aid of RNLI funds so head to Shapinsay for a great day of darts.
