Legion and Shapinsay are champions!

It was a week of joy for some but disappointment for others, as both Williamsons Darts Leagues finished for the season.
In the ‘A’ League the Legion duly maintained the crown they have held since the 2009/10 season.
They beat Quoyburray ‘B’ 10-2 to win the title by six points, after the Commodores crashed to an 8-4 defeat against the Wanderers
OGC secured third spot with a 7-5 victory over Sanday, while Warriors finished in fifth in their first season in the ‘A’ League with a 7-5 victory over the Legion Arrows.
It’s not so good for the Arrows as that defeat means they join the Sands ‘2’ in the ‘B’ League next year. The Sands lost out to the Untouchables 8-4 in a game played a couple of weeks ago.
Congratulations to Shapinsay and Quoyburray as both returned to the ‘A’ League — the former as ‘B’ League champions.
Quoyburray pipped the Nomads to the final promotion spot after beating them 8-4. Too many draws for the Nomads with 12 points dropped, but have a thought for the St Ola ‘B’ boys who, in their first season in the league, did not get even one point and went down to a 12-0 whitewash to the Murray Arms who finish in fourth place.
Tankerness finished strongly with a 9-3 win over the St Ola who had to settle for fifth place. The Muppets take eighth after defeating the Motorhoose 7-5 and they finish second bottom.
180s: Allan Brown, Grant Harrold, Brett Dickinson, Gary Wilson, Freddie Tait, Martin Peace, Eddie Drever, Raymie Rendall, Stevie Linklater, Graham Firth, Ian Eunson, two from Alan Gray, Robbie Stanger, Keith Brumpton, Michael Muir, Jim Brown and Leigh Shearer, and four from Jamie Marwick.
High checkouts: 100 from Leigh Shearer, Davy Henderson, Mark Shearer and two from Graham Louttit, 100 and 102 Keith Bain, 102 Alan Gray, 103 Matthew Wylie, 105 Freddie Tait, 107 Michael Muir, 110 Martin Peace and Lee Macpherson, 114 Derrick Firth, 117 Ian Stevenson, 119 Eddie Drever and Graham Rendall, 143 Billy Ward, 151 Keith Brumpton, and 153 Colin Leslie.
Ian Eunson hit a 171, there was a 12-dart leg from Raymie Rendall, a doubles 14-dart leg from Keith Bain and Grant Harrold, and further 14-dart legs from Jim Brown and Stevie Linklater.
It's the big one on Friday when Shetland comes visiting; it’s in the Masonic at 7pm. Then it’s the anniversary singles on Saturday in the Legion. Names in by 1.30 pm and it’s open to any player.
