Cup win for Wanderers

Quite a good turnout for the first of the 'A' and 'B' Cups  - the Spiers Cup as ten of the twelve 'A' teams entered but rather disappointing only two of the nine 'B' teams entered. Both 'B' teams went out at the first hurdle but Quoyburray only lost out to the Wanderers 4 - 3, who made it to the final where they beat the Golf Club 4 -0.

In the Plate Competition for first round losers, the Sands 2 won with a 4 -3 defeat of Quoyburay.

Only one 180 was scored and it came from Craig Taylor. High check outs of a 100 from Martin Peace, 105 - Jim Brown and 109 from Brian Moar.

It's on to the Lynnfield Cup on Friday night in the Legion and it's for 'A' League teams of four to six players, in a cricket format.

That's followed next Saturday, October 3rd with the game versus Caithness in the Masonic at 1.30pm. The KDDL teams are; 'A' team: (Captain) Craig Taylor, Robbie Stanger, Leigh Shearer, Billy Ward, Stevie Linklater, Jim Brown, Iain Wilkie, Ian Linklater, Derek Firth, Kevin Gray, Neil Croy, Michael Moodie and Jim Hamilton; Reserves: Gary Wilson, Alan Gray, Kevin Peace and Martin Peace.

'B' team: (Captain) Jim Scollie, Ian Eunson, Malcolm Coghill, Scott Wilson, Hamish Baillie, Des Gillespie, Graham Reid, Colin Kirkpatrick, Davy Henderson, John Hamilton, Raymie Rendall, George Low and Eddie Drever.
