Great day of darts in Shapinsay

Another great day out in Shapinsay for the Shapinsay Open -  and the darts were quite good as well.

30 gents and 18 young ladies ventured out on the 11.30am boat and at the end two champions were crowned - with Katy Croy taking the ladies, and Paul Foubister getting the better of the defending champion Kevin Gray.

The Kirkwall darts scene gets underway this week. The 'B' boys have already played their first game and it continues  on Friday night with the Allied cup for 'A' league teams of 3 to 4 players. It's in the Legion Club at 7.30pm.

Next Friday it's the first 'A' and 'B' cup in the Masonic Club at 7.30pm. It's the Spiers cup for teams of 4 to 6 players.

This is followed on Monday. September 21, by the start of both leagues - teams who haven't paid their entry fee will not be allowed to play.

Team captains will be reminded that this year, leg scores are to be put on score cards as well as overall scores.

There will be a committee meeting on Wednesday, September 16, in the Masonic Club at 8pm.
