RBLM and Legion are champions!

Both the Williamson’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ Leagues are complete, except for one ‘B’ game which won’t affect the placings.

In the Williamson’s ‘A’ League, the Legion, already crowned champions, finished off with a 12-0 whitewash of bottom team Quoyburray ‘B’, and remained undefeated over the 18 games, averaging 10,1 for every game.

The Untouchables had a very good, but close, game at the Golf Club, winning 7-5.
This was good enough to give them second spot, but 13 points behind the Legion.
The Golf Club did very well to come in fourth, behind third-placed Wanderers, who are in sixth spot.

The Untouchables ‘A’ finished in great style with a 8-4 defeat of Meadowbank, and there was also a good win for Sanday by 10-2 over Quoyburray, who were a bit disappointing after a good start, but finished well clear of bottom spot.

In the Williamson’s ‘B’ League, RBLM also finished undefeated and just pipped the Legion, averaging 10,3 over the season each game, and also had five whitewashes.

The Murray Arms finished with a six-all draw with Bilco Boys but still took second spot, ahead of Shore ‘2’, who beat the Shore 7-5.

It was a good week for Shapinsay, who had two wins – 10-2 over Sands and 9-3 against Tankerness. The Sands also lost out 7-5 to Deerness.
The Likely Lads lost out 9-3 to RBLM.

The presentation “do” is on Friday, April 27, the week after the team’s return from Shetland.

All players who have won cups or trophies during the season should attend, but not only winners as it’s a do to wind down the season.

Tickets are on sale from the secretary and are only £3 – the price of a pint. It’s surely not too much to ask once a year. A lot of people put a lot of effort in to organise these events – don’t let them down.
