Come and join the team at Mull Head and explore every part of the world’s largest stoat eradication project. You will have the opportunity to meet our conservation dogs and see them in action, explore the beautiful Mull Head looking for our native Orkney Vole with our monitoring officer, as well as meet other members of the project who can tell you all about who we are and what we are doing. This family friendly open day is your opportunity to experience hands on conservation and wildlife management.
Needlefelt Landscape Workshop

Visit one of Orkney’s smaller islands with our knowledgeable tour guide, Douggie Beaumont, ONWP Assistant Biosecurity Officer. Douggie will meet you on the Wyre ferry at Tingwall Pier and will take you on a guided walk around Wyre, showing you all the natural hidden gems that the island has to offer. The tour will take you round the edge of the island along a path that is not well travelled so sensible footwear and a reasonable level of fitness will be required. Once you have received a booking confirmation you will need to book yourself as a foot passenger onto the 8.20am ferry from Tingwall to Wyre, and the return sailing at 1.55pm from Wyre to Tingwall.
Stromness to Brodgar Bike Ride

For Orkney Nature Festival, we would like to invite everyone to join our daily bike rides from Stromness Travel Centre to the Ring of Brodgar, and take part in the FREE nature walks delivered by Historic Environment Scotland and RSPB Scotland Rangers.
We will meet daily, from Tuesday 16th May until Friday 19th May, at 11:30 am outside Stromness Travel Centre (next to the Bike Hub), and ride together at a slow pace, to join the walk (start at 1pm). We will cycle back together after the end of the walk. Simply bring your roadworthy bike with you and dress for the weather. Don't forget to bring a packed lunch with you.
