Holm Sailing Club is based in the village of St. Mary's. Points racing is held during the summer in Snipe dinghies.

Local News

Stomness Regatta has been postponed due to an adverse weather forecast. The new date has not yet been finalised although it is likely to be in August.

Club News

Holm Regatta was held on Saturday 9th July this year. More details will be posted shortly, but many thanks to all those who helped to make the event a success.

Interclub: The Interclub event was held on Tuesday 12th July with Stromness winning the event after three races in superb sailing conditions.

Rosebud:

Rosebud was launched on Saturday morning (18th June) at 10am at the Holm Pier. Barbara Balcombe and Lesley Spence also did a sponsored swim from the 2nd barrier pier to the Holm Pier to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease, with Rosebud supporting.

Tuesday evening racing continues through the summer with a 7pm start at St. Mary's pier.

Other News

Alison Young has won the Ladies Laser Radial World Championships in Mexico against very tough competition. Nick Thomson also came out in front in the Laser Standard fleet winning his second world championships, and a great warm up for the Olympic Games.

Lerwick Boating Club, Shetland hosted the Fireball European Championships in 2014. The event was won by Thomas Gillard and Richard Anderton, with top Shetland boat Willum Mouatt and Neil Fraser. See results.

The 2015 Island Games was hosted by Jersey. Orkney was represented by Andrew Leslie, Edward Johnstone and Ross Sinclair in the sailing event.

The 2015 UK Snipe National Championships was held at Llyn Brenig Sailing Club, North Wales run from 21st to 23rd August.
