Orkney Zerowaste is a local Scottish registered charity working in the community to raise waste awareness and offer practical recycling advice in Orkney.  We also run the Orkney Zerowaste Yard a community re-use/recycling site on Garson Place in Stromness, a 'one stop drop' helping our community by offering recycling solutions whenever we can!

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SELF-EMPLOYED PAID VAN DRIVER

Orkney Zerowaste, a registered local charity promoting waste awareness and recycling, seeks a new Van Driver for its business waste collection service in Kirkwall and Stromness.

Role:

• Collect recyclables (glass, plastic, tins, paper, and card) from our clients in Orkney every Friday.
• Most collections are in and around Kirkwall, with occasional trips to Stromness.
• Clear collection schedule provided. Some clients are weekly, others are fortnightly or monthly.
• Trips are usually completed in a morning or by early afternoon.
• Work on a self-employed basis, responsible for personal tax and National Insurance.

Details:

• Pick up a hire van from Drive Orkney in the morning and return it with a full tank on the same day (fuel costs are reimbursed).
• Rate of pay is £16 per hour, as work supporting a charitable cause.
