Scrabble Group

by A.W. - 14:43 on 03 August 2016

The U3A scrabble group continues to meet weekly on Friday Mornings -at 10 a.m.

I am jotting down some words new to some of us-

flim=£5 note

tivy =fanfare

chib=slash with a sharp weapon

nesh=sensitive to cold

phaic=animals with a dusky colouration

hade=angle to the vertical

kainga =maori village

mara =having a watery pattern

gool=corn marigold

crare=trading vessel

pav=to pay

Somehow one never seems able to use them in everyday conversation!
