Dingle Days - Modern life on the Antarctic Peninsula

An illustrated talk by Dickie Hall

Community Room, 1230 for 1245

Sunday 1st July - £3/£1

Dickie joined the British Antarctic Survey in 2005 as

Wintering Terrestrial Biologist at Rothera Research Station

on Adelaide Island, Antarctica. After 32 months he headed

North to civilisation but found life unbearable without the

company of Penguins. He returned to the Antarctic for a

further 2 years, most recently in the capacity of Wintering

Base Commander. He has travelled extensively in the

support of science in Western Antarctica. In this lecture he

offers a candid, humorous and sometimes poignant look at

the unique 18-month cycle of the modern British Antarctic

Research Station.
