Did you enjoy the 2017 Orkney Rock Festival?
Hope so! They did!
A lot of love for the 2017 festival from performers and participants on the Orkney Live Wire Facebook page.
And thanks to bands, artistes, venues and all, and Smid does a good job of saying that on the page. Thanks to all who bought Main Event tickets, raffle tickets (see the Facebook page to see the draw!), bought merchandise and made donations - this is what means we can do this again.
We're enthused and already thinking about next year. Meanwhile add your testimonials and stories on Facebook and fill in our post event survey. Watch out also for our online merch shop, also coming very soon. We can't sleep at night for worrying that someone can't get the 2015 Orkney Rock Festival t-shirt or vest they need to complete their collection...
Orkney Live Wire is a group of music enthusiasts who aim to promote and support live music in and around the county.
Orkney Live Wire rallied together in the summer of 2014 to organise Orkney's first Rock Festival, held in early Sept 2014- the festival was a massive success showcasing local artists and along with visiting acts from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Shetland and inspired the organisers to continue in their promotion of live music throughout the Orkney Islands.
As well as the Festival. Orkney Live Wire promotes gigs throughout the year, notably on County Show night, at Halloween, the New Year, and other times the fancy takes us. Keep an eye on our News and Events pages for what is coming up- next up is County Show night with Scaldin Bragg from Shetland.
This year sees the fourth Orkney Rock Festival taking place over 3 days from 1st-3rd September, but also with a bonus gig from
Saltfishforty Saltfishfilthy as an opening appetiser on 31st August- more details to follow on the Orkney Rock Festival 2017 pages.
Any profits are wholly reinvested in encouraging live music in Orkney. We've invested in a PA, and a drumkit, to make it easier to organise gigs and attract visiting bands.
The PA is available for hire, with or without sound engineering. Find out more here.
We have pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube that we want to make more of - they are linked to in our banner, above. Help us by taking picture and videos and posting them on our pages, and tag us using #orkneyrockfestival and #orkney_livewire
