Application Process

For projects which wish to apply for LEADER funds, there are application forms that require completion.  Assistance in this process will be available from the LEADER Development Officer as and when required.

Initial enquiries should be made with the LEADER Development Officer, whose contact details are available by clicking here. 

An initial enquiry form should be completed and returned to the LEADER Development Officer.  This should contain information on project objectives, timescales, and show evidence of match funding.  The initial enquiry form is available for download by clicking here.

If after assessing the initial enquiry form the project appears eligible for funding you will be asked to complete the full LEADER application form.  The application form is available in draft format by clicking here.

The application form has guidance notes provided for assistance in it's completion.  The guidances notes are available by clicking here.  Please refer to these guidance notes fully during your completion of the application form.

The application will then be assessed by the Local Action Group (LAG).  These assessments are due to take place quarterly.  The decision of the LAG will be made known to you immediately.

Those who are successful will then be provided with a claims pack and guidance notes on its quarterly completion. 

If required, a participant monitoring form would need to be completed for each individual involved in the project.  This information is important as it helps us identify who will be directly benefiting from the LEADER funded projects.

Please note that projects must show evidence of commencement within 4 months from the date of acceptance.

Applicants will be informed soon after of the LAG decision.  Further quarterly submission dates will be arranged in due course and updated on this section of the site.

UPDATE

Now that the Orkney LEADER Programme has had 15 rounds with over 80 successful applications, all funding is effectively committed.   There may be a small amount of additional funding made available later this year but at present this is now known for sure. Further information regarding LEADER applications will be made in due course.
