Welcome to the website for the Orkney Islands LEADER Action Group.

LEADER 

In late 2007 the Orkney Islands LEADER Action Group submitted aa bid to the Scottish Government for LEADER funding for the period 2007-2013. 

On the basis of this bid, Orkney was awarded £510k.  The Orkney Islands LEADER Action Team hopes to be in a position to start delivering the programme in the early Autumn 2008.

This site will be updated regularly and will provide details of the programme launch and the application process.

The local strategy for the LEADER programme is built around two themes -

• Revitalising Communities, and
• Progressive Rural Economies
