7776 Sergeant Donald Thomson of Flotta

Today is the centenary of the death in France of Sergeant Donald Thomson of Flotta.  Donald died five days after being wounded during the Battle of Loos on 27th September 1915, when 1st Scots Guards tried to capture a mine shaft called Puits 14 bis.  He was the first Flotta service man to die in the Great War.  His biography is available as a Word document in the Flotta section of the website, or can be downloaded direct as a pdf using the link below.
