Lieutenant Andrew Muir Fotheringhame

German bombing of Whitehall in September 1940 started fires that destroyed most of the records of Great War British Army officers.  Those that are left were "weeded" in the 1930s and for many officers no record remains.  The record for Andrew Fotheringhame, a Sanday school teacher before and after the Great War, survives in the National Archives, Kew with 44 pages.  It has been used as the main source for a biography listed as a pdf document in the Sanday section of the website, or it can be downloaded direct as a pdf file using the link below.
