Orkney play-offs results

Friday night saw the annual Orkney Darts play offs, Contested between the winners of the West Mainland and Kirkwall darts leagues, as well as the Singles and Doubles winners competing for the title of Orkney Champions 2016.
The play off took place in the Stromness Legion Club.
The team game was between the Stromness Legion and the Kirkwall Legion teams.
After the three doubles games the Kirkwall boys had a 2 - 1 lead and following some high quality singles games the Kirkwall Legion had extended their lead to 6 - 3.
The second half of the team game was six singles games drawn out of the hat and after these games the Kirkwall Legion had run out winners by 11 games to 4 to retain the Orkney Championship title.


The doubles and singles play off games were held during the break in the team game.
Paul Foubister and John Munson who were the West Mainland Champions beat Derek Firth and Kevin Gray 3 - 2 to become the Orkney Champions for the season 2016. Derek Firth then beat Paul Foubister  3 - 0 to add the Orkney Singles Champion title to his collection.


In a goodquality night of darts 180s were scored by - D Firth, K Gray, D Wilson and Robbie Stanger had a 177 & 180 back to back.


High checkouts were - N Croy 100, P Foubister  110, J Munson  115, R Stanger  117, E Ritch 126 and K Gray 139
