There was a very good turnout for the first of three charity events.

The Steven Flett Memorial Shield attracted 24 gents and 21 young ladies, so three ladies got the chance to play again after losing out in the first round.
The holders for the last five years, Kevin and Shona, went out in the semi-final to a very impressive Catherine Clyde and Stevie Linklater, three nil, and Catherine hit all the doubles.
She continued in the final as the former champions became the present champs with a three-nil win over Margaret Sutherland and Ray Butcher, who had played really well to make the final.
The next big event is the presentation night in the Masonic on Saturday, April 18. It is a ticket-only do so get your tickets from the secretary.

The Williamson’s ‘A’ League came to an end with a flourish and some surprise results.
The Legion finished off with only one defeat and their 10-2 defeat of Quoyburray ‘B’ condemned the country boys to the wooden spoon. Joining them in the ‘B’ league is the other Quoyburray team. Even though, they beat RBLM 8-4, they crashed 7-5 to the Nomads and that win took the Nomads above them.
The Commodores made sure of second spot with another 12-nil whitewash. The Golf boys missed out on game difference event after beating the Wanderers 9-3. Sanday finished on a high with an 8-4 defeat of RBLM. The Untouchables got the better of the Untouchables ‘A’ 9-3.
One game was played in the Williamson’s ‘B’ league, with Shapinsay beating the Masonic 8-4, so the Bilco Boys get the wooden spoon.
