Darts season about to start

The new season gets under way on Monday, with the Allied Hotels Cup, for teams of three from the ‘A’ League.
This means that teams who have signed six players can enter two teams. It is in the Legion, with registration at 7.30pm. Teams with one entry are allowed one reserve.
On Tuesday, September 10, it is the ‘B’ boys’ turn, with the St Ola Cup, in the Masonic Club, at 7.30pm.
This competition is for teams of four players, with up to two reserves allowed.

There is still a question mark over the Sands team, which I hope will be sorted out before the start of the season.
A couple of registration have yet to be returned to the secretary Jim Scollie; no book, no play!
Entry fees for the leagues are also due, and teams are encouraged to get them paid early, rather than late.

Before this all happens, though, there is the little matter of the first ever Shapinsay Open, on Saturday, out in Shapinsay with a 1pm start.
It is a fun day out, with various games taking place, but there is also £100 on offer for the winner, so let’s have a good turnout. The boat out is at 11.30am, and there are various boats coming back.
