Commodore victory for Derek

In the Williamson’s ‘A’ League, the Untouchables took advantage of the Legion not having a game to move to within six points of the top team with an easy 8-4 win over the Golf Club.
The only other team in with a shout are the Wanderers with a 9-3 defeat of Sanday who, after a great start, have faded as the season nears the end of the first half.
Meadowbank and Untouchables ‘A’ shared the points in a six-all draw and both are well off the leaders.
Quoyburray ‘B’ have still to win a game, after going down 9-3 to the Commodores.
The Williamson’s ‘B’ League has reached the half-way mark, but there’s still three games to play, and team captains are reminded that these games must be played before the Festive Singles or they will be classed as void and no points or scores recorded.
But, on the games that were played, and RBLM are totally clear after their fourth 12-nil whitewash, and it was the Likely Lads who had to suffer.
Their nearest challengers are the Murray Arms, after a good 9-3 win over Bilco Boys, and they still have a game to play.
The Sands, in third spot, lost ground as Deerness held them to a 6-6 draw.
Shapinsay stayed in touch, with an 8-4 defeat of Tankerness and they also have a game to play.
There was no score once again from the Shore.

There were lots of 180s, with 28 being scored from Ian Linklater and Keith Bain in a 14-leg game, Roy Griffiths, Brian Murray, Craig Moar, Michael Kemp, Aaron Mitchell, Martin Peace, Des Gillespie, Colin Barnett, Michael Montgomery, Billy Ward, Derek Firth, Stevie Linklater, and two from Trevor Shearer, Kevin Gray, Michael Moodie, Craig Taylor, three from Brian Stevenson and Ivan Leslie.
Top of the table is Kevin Gray, with 14; Ivan Leslie has 13.
High checkouts of a 100 from Craig Moar and Bruce Moar; 104 Des Gillespie and Billy Ward; 111 Trevor Shearer; 112 Leigh Shearer; 114 Neil Drever; 117 Robbie Stanger and Aaron Mitchell; 120 Stevie Linklater and Derek Firth, also 131 and 137; Paul Foubister had a 147.
Thirty-five players entered for the Commodore Singles. Derek Firth beat Ivan Leslie 4-1 in the final.
Derek leads the table on 31 points. Ivan is second on 18 points.
