U3A PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP ONE - October 2021 (2)
by Tim - 17:37 on 28 October 2021
Eleven of us went to the Kirbister Farm Museum nice and early and had the place to ourselves most of the morning . A few sunny breaks to start with helped the outside photos as the sun is low in the sky and sheds a nice light on the stonework .The dark clouds of the threatening rain helped give contrast to the background .The Burn and the Bridge got lots of attention as they are Project subjects this month .The rain then started in earnest so lots of photos were taken inside the Byre with the farm implements and in the rooms in the house itself .The peat fire was burning bright and gave everyone a smokey reek as well as some excellent closeup photos ."Detail " was the suggested theme for the morning and there was so much to choose from .Kirbister is really a photographer's paradise .I see different things each time I go there and I am sure that won't change next time either .Lets just hope the suggested closure of the two farm Museums never goes ahead .
Then it was back to Hilary's for coffee and cake, well deserved after such an intense morning of photography . A big Thank You to Hilary for being so kind as to hosting us all.
The next meeting is November 24th at 2pm in the Dounby School Computer Room to look at the photos from Lairg .We can also run through the photos from the "Burns/Bridges" project too. Many thanks to Hilary for arranging the use of the room again .
