Five botanical hardy perennials met today in a wet and windy Finstown. The plan was to go to Burray but in light of the conditions plans were altered there was a quick, wet romp through the woods at Gyre, Orphir followed by lunch in the Orkneyinga visitor centre. A pleasant hour in the Natural History Museum (Stromness)was followed by refreshments at the Ice Cream Parlour in Stenness ( excellent coffee). Making the best of a poor day we all had a good time and even looked at some plants.
