Our Galleries

Our collections and galleries are diverse, and reflect upon the wandering spirit of the Orcadian nature.  Whilst we have never had a vast population, we have managed to travel the globe and many of the artefacts, stories, and legends appear in some way or other in the Museum.  You may need to make several visits, which is why we offer a week-long ticket.  We'd be very happy to welcome you to our Museum!

We continue to have strong links with Canada and the arctic.  Find out why, with us.

Find out about our maritime past.

See some amazing ship and maritime models.
We have a wealth of natural history, mainly concentrated in our first floor gallery.

Orkney's role in both World Wars are well documented.  See some artefacts in our collection.

Our worldwide ethnographic collection might come as a bit of an eye opener!

We are incredibly privileged to be able to exhibit some of the artefacts found in the international recognised Ness of Brodgar excavation.
