Petty Officer Adam Frisken 173843 (Ch)

Today is the centenary of the death of Petty Officer Adam Frisken of Kirkwall.  Adam served through the Gallipoli campaign on the battleship HMS Swiftsure, which survived the conflict in which its sister ship, HMS Triumph, was sunk off Anzac by a U-boat.  Adam was hospitalised with heart disease on 31st December in Cairo, where he died on 10th February 1916.  His biography is available as a Word document in the Kirkwall section of the website, or can be downloaded direct as a pdf using the link below.
