Victory Day 2014

Russia remembers with pride on 9th May each year its hard won victory in 1945 over the might of Nazi Germany in World War 2.  Russia has shown increasing gratitude in recent years for the significant contribution made to aid its war effort then by Allied merchant ships carrying vital supplies through Arctic waters and the warships that provided protection to them.  Photos and a brief report of the commemorative service held today in Lyness at the Arctic Convoys Memorial there can be seen using the link below.
