Belgian Graves

Photos of the graves of Canadians James Groat from Westray and George Inkster from Rousay, also Scots Guardsman William Petrie from South Ronaldsay have been added to the appropriate pages of the website Memorials section.  These Orcadians are buried in Belgium, at repectively Lijssenthoek Cemetery near Poperinge and Railway Dugouts and Potijze Cemeteries in Ieper.  The photos were very kindly provided by John Sutherland: a Scotsman who spent most of his working life (after 10 years in the RAF) in Yorkshire, but he and wife Marianne have lived in Ieper (Ypres) since November 2008.  John, who was the UK co-ordinator for the new Scottish Memorial unveiled in Flanders in August 2007, researches war dead whose surname was Sutherland.
