Just a thought

The Lord’s teaching is perfect, reviving the soul;

the Lord’s testimony is trustworthy, making the simple wise.

The Lord’s precepts are right, and gladden the heart;

the Lord’s command is radiant, giving light to the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is pure, and continues for ever;

the Lord’s commandments are true and altogether right,

more to be desirable than gold, even much fine gold,

and sweeter than honey, flowing from the comb.

Your servant also has light from them;

in keeping them there is great reward.

Who can discern their unwitting errors?

O cleanse me from my hidden faults.

Hold back your servant also from deliberate sins,

may they not rule over me;

then I shall be whole, and innocent of great offence.

May the words of my mouth find favour,

and the music of my heart rise before you,

Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:7-14, translation by John Eaton: this week’s Lectionary Psalm.
