I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10: 11)
The Good Shepherd image is one that inspires trust and confidence that we are loved. Our call then is to love, to exercise our power in acts of love to one another. The power of the Resurrection was what emboldened Peter to act and speak of the healing power of Jesus name because death could not hold him. God raised Jesus from the dead out of love for all humankind provided a saving grace that is for all.
