Orkney Carriage Driving Group

Orkney Carriage Driving Group held their first Open Show on Sunday 15 March 2015.

 It was a great success with the weather being kind, plenty of entries and spectators and plenty of good food.  As well as in hand classes there was a display by Toots Cromarty with her lovely Clydesdales and a display of pair driving through cones by Geoff and Suki Linnitt.   This was followed by 3 brave and fit competitors who long reined ponies through the cones course and then a handy pony which could be either led or long reined with 6 obstacles to negotiate.   3 of the competitors were in fancy dress and it was hilarious to watch.

Many thanks to all the competitors, the judge Frances Sinclair and her able steward Sharon and all the committee and helpers who worked hard all day and Birsay Farmers who kindly sponsored the rosettes.
