Beach Walk

Alternative date may be 30th January

Join us to walk Birsay beach and Birsay Links beach looking for anything that has been washed in. This is likely to include skate and ray cases, seal, bird and fish carcasses, various seaweeds, bryozoans, sponges and soft corals, rubbish and maybe some surprises!

Walking mainly on the big banks of kelp which can be slippery and uneven. Rubber boots recommended as it will be wet and sandy .

Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring bags to collect specimens. Cameras and tape measures recommended.
