We thought we'd try something a bit different, seeing as we are celebrating 60 years of the Field Club, so we are heading to Caithness for a day trip. We will take the ferry from Burwick to John O'Groats, and from there enjoy a leisurely walk along the coast and up to the cliffs at Duncansby Head where we can get good views of the stacks below. Along the way we will see a nice variety of wildflowers and seabirds. There is also the chance of seeing cetaceans from the ferry. Please bring a packed lunch, flask, binoculars, camera and the usual warm, waterproof clothing. Walking distance 5-6 miles, sturdy footwear recommended.

Ferry times - depart Burwick 9.45am, return from John O'Groats 6pm, crossing time approx. 40 mins. Ferry £25pp for a day return, payment on the ferry - cash only.  For more information and to book please contact Megan - [email protected]
