Hoy Trip
28 April 2019
Starts: 09:30
Ends: 17:00

NB Please note the change of date to Sunday 28th April

Join us on a visit to the Lyrawa tree plantation on Hoy to seek out Coal Tits and maybe other woodland birds, as well as identifying some of the conifer species which were planted by the Forestry Commission in the 1950s. Plus a walk along the Lyrawa burn, this time taking in some native woodland, including Aspen. There will be some rough walking involved, so please wear suitable footwear and warm/waterproof clothing and bring a picnic and money for the bus.

We’ll take the 9.30am ferry from Stromness to Moaness and go by minibus to near the plantation, coming back on the 16.30pm ferry.
