Video - Holm presentation

by Unknown - 10:36 on 28 January 2014

Last week Yes Orkney took the case for Scottish independence to Holm in the first of our outreach efforts leading up to the referendum. In case you missed us, the following video shows a presentation made by Ian Carse at Holm Community Centre.

In addition to the wider case for independence, Ian addresses specific issues pertaining to Orkney. Among the topics covered is the fact that Scottish farmers are currently receiving only 16.4% of the funding awarded to them by the EU, as Westminster has refused to pass this money on. Negotiations over Scotland's continuing membership of the EU upon independence provide an opportunity to negotiate a better deal for the islands.

The next presentation by Yes Orkney will take place in Kirkwall on the 11th of February, in the St. Magnus Centre at 7.30pm. It will be open for all people, no matter where they live in Orkney, to attend.

Following Kirkwall Yes Orkney will be in Stromness and then on their travels around the other areas of Orkney.
