The Ness of Brodgar Archaeological Dig
Our 2015 summer exhibition proved so popular, we extended it right through to Christmas. It actually overflowed our usual space and took up the room in the museum known as 'the Captain's Parlour.' However, we have decided to leave some of the artefacts in that room on a semi-permanent basis (there will be an new exhibition in that space next year). The photo gallery directly underneath this text shows some of the artefacts and the cases in our display, but scroll down for something rather more interactive...
Dr Hugo Anderson-Whymark is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of York based in Stromness, and recently joined our board of trustees. Having worked on the dig at the Ness of Brodgar he had access to many of the artefacts, and he has a passion for creating 3D online models, and sharing his work with others. We are very grateful to him for allowing us to show just a fraction of his work below.
